Capital Region AEE 2009 Scholarship
The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is a nonprofit professional society of 8,500 members in 77 countries. The mission of AEE is "to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and to foster action for Sustainable Development."

The Capital Region AEE will be awarding (1) $500 SCHOLARSHIP to eligible high school students living in the Capital Region of New York State.

Eligible Students are high school seniors who are planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college in the fall of 2008 and will be majoring in a technical career. The students must live in one of the following NY counties; Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schoharie, Greene, Columbia, Warren, Washington, Montgomery, Fulton, Herkimer or Hamilton.

The scholarship will be awarded based upon the following criteria

   1st, an essay of no more then (2) double spaced typed pages on the following topic;

   "What impacts can sustainable development have on your community during your lifetime?"

   2nd, a Letter of Recommendation from your high school guidance counselor.


An email with the Essay and scanned Letter of Recommendation is due no later then May 2, 2009 by 5 pm. Please include your name, address and phone number with your email.
